Celebrating the 300th Anniversary of the Romanov Dynasty in St. Petersburg through the Eyes of the Clergy of the Tobolsk (According to the Memoirs of Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov)

400-летие Дома Романовых, которое отмечается в 2013 г., безусловно, стало одним из главных событий последнего времени. Сто лет назад, в 1913 г., эта дата имела еще более весомое значение — население широко встречало три века правления династии, с которой связаны главные вехи в истории страны. Региональная специфика позволяет выявить настроения и отношение к правящей семье в крае, отражает личные впечатления от встречи юбилея на самом высоком уровне в момент прохождения праздничных мероприятий в столице. Празднование 300-летнего юбилея Дома Романовых глазами тобольского священнослужителя является, с одной стороны, сугубо субъективным мнением, а с другой — выражает чувства и точку зрения всего духовенства Тобольской губернии в силу его сословно-корпоративной структуры и отношения к правящей династии. Воспоминания современника дают живое представление о событиях вековой давности, рисуют картины эпохи, правящих лиц, позволяя последующим поколениям узнать и приобщиться к главным отправным точкам в истории страны. Публикация направлена на популяризацию отечественных исторических знаний, связанных с последней династией России, малоизвестных фактов, относящихся именно к провинциальным регионам. The 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, which is celebrated in 2013, will certainly become one of the main events of the recent years. A hundred years ago, in 1913, that date was even more important as the population widely celebrated the tercentenary of the 3ooth anniversary of the dynasty, which linked the major milestones in the history of the country. Regional specificity allows to identify the mood and attitude of the ruling family in the region, reflects the personal impressions of the wide anniversary celebrations at the moment of festive activities in the capital. The celebration of the 300th anniversary the Romanovs as viewed by eyes of the Tobolsk priest is on the one hand especially subjective, on the other hand, it shows the feelings and opinions of all clergy of the Tobolsk province owing to its class and corporate structure and the relation to the ruling dynasty. The memoirs of a contemporary give vivid impressions of the past events, draw sketches of the era, the ruling persons, allowing the next generations to learn and «join in» the key points in the country’s history. The paper is aimed at popularization of Russian historical knowledge associated with the last dynasty of Russia, little-known facts that occurred and specific to the provincial regions.
