In today's modern world, Electrical mobility vehicles are much dependent on electrical machine drives. Now a days electrical vehicle concept are being developed commercially and utilized for commercial trucks, trains, passenger vehicle, cabs, scooters etc. and present day research are focusing on five phase electrical machine drive in order to enhance the electrical vehicle technology. The development of multiphases like Five phase drive is due to their distinct advantages over conventional three phases drives like per phase low power rating, high torque density, increased degree of freedom a high reliability. This paper presents an overview analysis of mathematical model of Five phase induction motor drive. This paper discusses the different control techniques currently available in the literature controlling the different variables of Five phase induction motor (FPIM) drive.
