In this article, a period of 10 years of wind speed data from different stations have been used to investigate the potential of wind energy production at the selected sites in Jordan which are: Irbid, Madaba and Aqaba. The article presents a method to study wind data for wind-turbine siting. Two parameters are defined where the siting can be optimized, the site effectiveness and the cut-in speed. The study was handled depending on two selected models of wind turbines sufficient for electricity generation. The outcomes of this study show that the selected turbines could be used in the selected sites and utilized for electrical power generation, provided the correct wind machine-site is selected.
