An approximate technique for simulating quantum noise in electromagnetic radiation propagating through a Raman-active Kerr medium is developed. The method is based on a truncated Wigner representation, and is valid at large photon number with a finite frequency cut-off. Results for squeezing in quantum solitons are obtained. We find that at low temperatures Raman scattering does not significantly degrade squeezing.
