A novel conjugated neutral surfactant poly9,9-bis(6′-(diethanolamino)hexyl)fluorene (PFN-OH; see figure) has been developed as an efficient electron-injection material for fabricating highly efficient multilayer polymer light-emitting diodes. Compared to the traditional neutral surfactants used, PFN-OH possesses the combined advantages of good conductivity and excellent electron-injection ability from high-work-function metals (e.g., Al, Ag, or Au).
