Using wind energy as a renewable power source has experienced rapid growth at global level because it is sustainable and clean. This paper proposes a method for maximizing the energy yield from a specific wind farm by selecting wind turbines with power-speed curves correlated with the power-speed curves of wind regimes at that area. The study is applied for two different wind farms in Quebec. The first one is the Matane wind farm, created by Hydro Quebec, while the second is the Parc éolien du Renard, created by Groupement éolien Quebecois. The output energy and the capacity factor for both farms are calculated using Wind Energy Resource Analysis (WERA) software with the aid of website data.
