The structure of molten sodium chloride has been investigated by applying the technique of neutron diffraction to isotopically enriched samples. The three partial structure factors relating to Na-Na, Cl-Cl, and Na-Cl correlations have been successfully extracted from the data. Some general conclusions about the structure of molten sodium chloride are made and the relationship between the present work and earlier theoretical studies is discussed.
