To advance sustainable bioproduction, we engineered Pseudomonas putida for methanol assimilation via modular synthetic serine cycle variants. By combining native and synthetic functions, we enabled methanol-dependent serine biosynthesis and revealed new metabolic topologies, offering a blueprint for C1 assimilation in non-model, industrially relevant bacteria.
