<ns3:p>This article is the attempt to present the concept of pedagogical diagnosis as a priority in the process of upbringing and education of early education school children. The presentation of the topic indicated in the paper title requires an analysis of the understanding of the terms like diagnosis and pedagogical diagnosis. Diagnosis is a type of empirical study that is extremely important in pedagogy, not only due to the assessments that are involved in the scientific process, but also due to practical diagnoses. Goals and connections with explanation and forecasting processes are also significant. It is worth considering whether the diagnosis can be treated as a separate type of study in social sciences or whether it is a necessary stage of each study. Getting used to such terms as: diagnostic test, diagnostic survey is very strong. I want to point out that diagnosis is a significant element in both education and teacher’s work. It helps explain the mechanisms and sources of many situations occurring in teaching and upbringing.</ns3:p>
