Cardiovascular System Dynamics

This book is a compilation of 62 manuscripts presented at an International Cardiovascular System Dynamics Conference in April 1975. Acknowledged authorities in cardiovascular investigation have presented a status report in areas from "Molecular Mechanisms of Muscle Contraction" and "Myocardial Sarcomere Mechanics" to "Clinical Coronary Perfusion" and "Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery." In each of 12 sections, including cardiac muscle, coronary circulation, ventricular dynamics, microcirculation, pulmonary vasculature, systemic veins, vascular control mechanisms, and cardiovascular system control, the reader is thoughtfully led from the very basic to the very clinical. Throughout, an emphasis is placed on a practical symbiosis between engineering and medicine. Most presentations are quite readable and even comprehensible to the interested cardiovascular clinician.
