Context The Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic (KJOC) questionnaire is a well-established tool used in several countries; however, the measurement properties of the Brazilian version (KJOC/Br) have not yet been analyzed. This cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the measurement properties of the KJOC/Br. Methods We included overhead athletes (18 to 60 years) with shoulder pain, ≥ 2 training sessions per week, and ≥ 1 year of competitive experience. Test–retest reliability and internal consistency were assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach's alpha, respectively. Construct validity was examined through correlations between the KJOC/Br and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Evaluation Form (ASES), Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Patient-Specific Functional Scale (PSFS), and Quick Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (QuickDASH). Results The KJOC/Br demonstrated adequate internal consistency and moderate correlations with the NPRS (r = −0.53), PSFS (r = 0.56), QuickDASH (r = −0.50), ASES (r = 0.42), and the QuickDASH Sports Module (r = −0.58). In addition, it demonstrated excellent reliability (ICC > 0.90), with a standard error of measurement of 5.05 and an Minimal Detectable Change 90 of 11.72 . Conclusion The Brazilian version of the KJOC demonstrated excellent reliability and adequate internal consistency and construct validity.
