The study deals with methodological and informational features of research on measuring inequality of opportunities. Meta-analysis was used as a research method. Metadata was gathered from a sample of articles from the WoS database, selected through a keyword search. It was found that the level of income inequality has a significant direct impact on opportunity inequality. Sample restriction to only rural residents significantly reduces inequality of opportunity, as well as performing calculations only for the male population. Application of total income, rather than labor one, reduces the assessment of inequality of opportunity. The choice of the Gini index as inequality measure when calculating on the basis of the ex-ante approach significantly increases the result of the assessment, when calculating on the basis of the ex-post approach, it decreases it.
