The article looks at the representation of nature in Western art as well as in the Buddhist tradition. The author feels that when nature is considered in terms of aesthetics in Western art, the beauty of nature is affected by mundanity. In the Buddhist tradition, the production of landscape art is perceived as a kind of meditation of the illusory aspects of all existence.
