Collision strengths and parameters | (i j) | required for the calculation of collisional rate coefficients are calculated for the fine-structure transitions |2D₃/₂-2D₅/₂, 2P₁/₂-2P₃/₂, \, 4S₃/₂-2D₉, \, 4S₃/₂-2P₉\, and\, 2D₉-2P₉^| within the ground configuration of O II. The complicated resonance structure in the |2D₃/₂-2D₅/₂ | collision strength above the 2D threshold is taken into account. The collision strengths are obtained from reactance matrices calculated by Pradhan using the close-coupling approximation.
