High in-hospital mortality after out-of-hospital arrest warrants better resuscitation; this cohort leaves open causal roles for beta-blockers and VF subsets.
What is the prognosis and clinical follow-up of patients resuscitated from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest?
Patients resuscitated from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest have high in-hospital mortality, but those surviving to discharge have a favorable long-term prognosis, particularly when circulation is restored early.
Jakobsson et al. (1987) studied this question.
