Demonstrates enhanced energy storage and conversion in micro-nano devices using field effect, suggesting improved performance.
Field-effect, as a novel electrochemical regulation method, can significantly enhance the energy density and catalytic performance of materials by tuning their electronic structures without altering the crystal structures. In terms of energy storage, the application of field effects to manganese dioxide nanowires can increase the accessible density of states, enhancing the energy storage performance by up to 3 times. In terms of energy conversion, the application of gate voltage can modulate the Fermi level of materials, thereby altering electrochemical reaction kinetics and effectively bolstering catalytic activity. By observing the impact of field effects on energy storage and catalysis performance of materials under multi-field coupling regulation, and integrating in-situ characterization techniques, the research and application of field-effect micro-nano devices in electrochemistry can be further advanced. Field-effect provides a theoretical foundation for the design of high-performance energy storage and conversion devices.
