This article explores the Feminism of Rupture in degrowth and delinking projects, highlighting transformative potential and necessary structural changes.
This article proposes the Feminism of Rupture as a disruptive analytical framework to explore the potential and the gaps of the degrowth and delinking projects. It emphasizes the need for a structural and macro-economic approach to these. The rupturist lens is key, since it insists on the need to dismantle capitalism with an articulation of anti-colonial and anti-imperial efforts. Feminism of Rupture provides a comprehensive theoretical and political framework to examine degrowth and delinking, highlighting their transformative potential, unveiling whether or not the proposals for implementation directly correlate with the diagnosis and the aspirations of these projects. The article will also explore the agenda components through which the degrowth and delinking projects could move forward in alignment. The complementary implementation of these two projects is not a given and would require an intentional effort from the degrowth community to happen, since global inequalities and power imbalance are rooted in the Global North and the Western imperial paradigm wreaks havoc for the entire humanity. Furthermore, the knowledge generated by the Feminism of Rupture is indispensable for a thorough vision. This article is an invitation to continue a comprehensive analysis that articulates all these components.
