This multicountry trial demonstrates educational videos enhance insulin understanding in adults, suggesting scalable diabetes education tools.
Introduction and Objective: Structured diabetes education improves outcomes but remains limited, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. We evaluated whether an animated video could improve confidence in diabetes basics, including insulin action. Methods: A 5:28-minute animated video explaining insulin function was shown to adults in India, Costa Rica, and the United States, followed by a post-viewing survey assessing knowledge, confidence, and perceived impact. Results: Some data is shown in table 1. All participants had access to an endocrinologist, and 86% to a diabetes educator. After viewing, 71% reported the video effectively explained the topic, 81% found it easy to understand, and 35% found it engaging. Conclusion: The animated video improved understanding across diverse global settings, supporting animated tools as a scalable approach to diabetes education. Disclosure R. Purushothaman: None. D.
