Demonstrates the synthesis of imidazolidinones in diverse urea types, suggesting a new method for pharmaceutical applications.
The diamination of alkenes by thianthrenation was reported for the construction of imidazolidinones. A variety of N-aryl/N′-aryl-, N-aryl/N′-alkyl-, and N-alkyl/N′-alkyl-substituted ureas were accommodated to couple with various alkenyl thianthrenium salts. The utility of this method was demonstrated by concise synthesis of an anti-CLD reagent.
