Finite element analysis is applied to find solutions to problems involving Poisson's equation and wave equations. Typical examples are used for illustration. Problems of node numbering, bandwidth reduction, and mesh generation are discussed.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
