This article examines the unique position school nurses are in to identify and address medical child abuse as clinical awareness continues to grow. The lack of education available on the topic of medical child abuse and why cases are inherently difficult to diagnose is discussed. Information for school nurses on how to identify and intervene as well as resources available are provided.
