AbstractThis study evaluates the seismic performance of a 10-storey RC building with fixed-base, HDRB, andLRB isolation systems using ETABS, based on IS 1893 (Part 1): 2016 and IS 456: 2000. ResponseSpectrum and Nonlinear Time History analyses showed that base isolation significantly increased thefundamental time period and reduced base shear, inter-storey drift, peak floor acceleration, and roofdisplacement. LRB exhibited slightly better seismic performance due to higher energy dissipation, whileHDRB provided smoother response behaviour. The results confirm that base isolation is an effectivemethod for improving the seismic resilience of RC buildings under Indian conditions.
