First-principles unification reveals reflection as a special case of refraction in light behavior, impacting physics fundamentals.
This paper completes the first-principles unification of all core laws of geometrical optics within the framework of Time Field Theory (TFT), starting from the meta-axiom of metric self-consistency. We derive a single unified equation that simultaneously describes both reflection and refraction, proving that reflection is merely a special case of refraction when the time field is invariant across the interface. Furthermore, we show that the principle of constancy of the speed of light, previously a postulate in relativity, is a logical necessity in TFT. The observed inequality between the angle of refraction and the angle of incidence in traditional physics is shown to be an artifact of cross-metric-space measurement. This framework also provides a unified variational description for gravitational lensing and optical refraction. This work is part of the Time Field Theory (TFT) series.
