The working environment in modern organizations has changed significantly with the adoption of remote and flexible working practices. This study focuses on the comparative employee performance in remote work and on-site work among employees working in Chennai from the Nagapattinam Region region. The main objective of the study is to compare employee productivity, communication, job satisfaction, work-life balance, and overall efficiency in both remote and on-site working conditions. A descriptive research design was adopted, and data were collected from employees using questionnaires along with secondary sources such as journals, articles, and websites. The study concludes that remote work provides flexibility, reduced travel stress, and better work-life balance, which improve employee satisfaction and productivity. At the same time, challenges such as communication gaps and lack of direct interaction were identified among remote employees. On-site work supports better teamwork, coordination, and direct supervision, but employees face difficulties such as commuting stress and fixed working schedules. The study suggests that organizations can adopt hybrid work models to improve employee performance, organizational productivity, and employee well-being.
