Presents Evoked Structural Brittleness metrics highlighting disease separation in neurodegenerative cohorts, suggesting future biomarker potential.
This study introduces Evoked Structural Brittleness (ESB-2), a perturbational deviation score measuring abnormal EEG responses to photic stimulation in Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. Using resting-state baselines for subject-level anchoring, the analysis identifies significant disease-versus-healthy separation, particularly at 15 Hz. The findings suggest that neurodegeneration leads to a posterior-capacity-led loss of response bandwidth. While not yet an externally validated biomarker, ESB-2 provides a reproducible framework for quantifying evoked neural manifold dynamics in clinical cohorts.
