Demonstrates improved ammonia selectivity and faradaic efficiency in electrochemical nitrate reduction, indicating a new approach for green ammonia synthesis.
Electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate to ammonia (eNO 3 RR) is a promising green ammonia synthesis pathway, which uses nitrate in industrial wastewater as a raw material to generate ammonia under mild conditions by using renewable power resources. However, the complex multielectron reaction path of this process is prone to side reactions, which seriously limit the selectivity of ammonia and Faradaic efficiency. Based on this, a one‐pot wet chemical coreduction method was used to synthesize PdNiMo trimetallene catalysts for eNO 3 RR. Through the atomic‐scale alloying of Pd, Ni, and Mo in the two‐dimensional structure, the material synergistically regulates the active sites, electronic structure and lattice strain, thereby significantly improving the ammonia selectivity and Faradaic efficiency, providing an efficient catalytic platform for green ammonia synthesis.
