Questionnaire-based study assesses satisfaction in health check-up services, highlighting quality improvement areas.
Background: Patient satisfaction is an essential indicator of healthcare quality, particularly in preventive services such as executive health check-up programs. Systematic evaluation of patient feedback is critical for identifying strengths and service gaps in health check-up departments. Objectives: To assess patient perceptions and satisfaction levels regarding services provided by the Executive Health Check-up Department of a tertiary care hospital in Durgapur, West Bengal. Methods: A structured questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey was administered to patients availing health check-up packages at The Mission Hospital, Durgapur during November–December 2025. Multiple service dimensions were evaluated including staff behavior, coordination, waiting time, cleanliness, cafeteria services, availability of assistive devices, and overall satisfaction. Data were analysed using percentage distribution methods. Results: The findings revealed a high level of patient satisfaction overall. The majority of respondents rated staff behaviour and overall service quality as excellent. Cafeteria services and coordination were rated predominantly as good. Areas such as availability of assistive devices (wheelchairs and stretchers) and waiting time showed scope for improvement. Conclusion: While health check-up services are largely satisfactory, continuous quality improvement focusing on infrastructure and operational efficiency can further enhance patient experience and service excellence.
