Evaluates AI applications’ effectiveness in solving daily life problems in primary education, suggesting improved learning integration.
Artificial Intelligence is the ability of logic, self-awareness, comprehension, reasoning, problem solving and creativity to be fulfilled by a computationalsystem in a non-biological structure. The history of artificial intelligence ismostly based on the work of Alan Turing during the 2nd World War.Although the theoretical foundations were laid by Turing, the first use of theconcept of artificial intelligence was brought up by another mathematician,John McCarthy, at the Darthmouth Conference held in 1956. Artificialintelligence studies have gained significant momentum since then. Today, artificial intelligence has many uses. With the introduction of Large LanguageModels, people can now speak with artificial intelligence applications justlike talking to a human. In this direction, artificial intelligence has started tohave a share in the education process. In this study, it was aimed at evaluatingthe solution skills of Gemini, ChatGPT and Llama applications, which are themost advanced artificial intelligence applications, also known as largelanguage models, related to daily life problems in primary school sciencecourses. In line with the findings obtained, the use of artificial intelligenceapplications in the education process is exemplified.
