Formal specification explores commissive intelligence and its components, indicating a new understanding of human interaction.
The Spondemus Calculus is a formal specification of Commissive Intelligence, the single capacity by which a person recognizes another as an I, binds herself toward her in truthfulness, reads the occasion, and revises under warrant. This document is its human-readable exposition: each definition, axiom, and theorem given in symbolic form matched to the underlying Lean 4 code, then restated in plain language. Built on the modal system ST2 of super-strict implication with Priorean temporal operators, it proceeds in stages from recognition through the Primary Commissive, mutual meaning, corrigibility, and the named capacity with its failure modes. An earlier version of this material was presented as the keynote at 5ICPH, Porto, Portugal, May 2025.
