Case study shows tumour retention from Lu-177 FAPI-2286 in recurrent glioblastoma, suggesting therapeutic potential.
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly aggressive primary brain tumour. There are very few and dissatisfactory treatment options for recurrence. Ga-68 fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) positron emission tomography/computed tomography provides higher tumour-to-background contrast. We present the case of a 44-year-old male with recurrent GBM who underwent a tumour retention study with Lu-177 FAPI-2286. Serial whole-body planar imaging demonstrated tumour tracer retention up to day 7 postinjection, with tumour-to-background ratios peaking at days 2–4 and remaining favourable thereafter. This case highlights the prospect of Lu-177 FAPI-2286 as a therapeutic agent in recurrent GBM.
