Reveals effective synthesis of chiral conjugated dienes, suggesting new applications in pharmaceuticals.
The conjugated dienes are valuable intermediates in organic synthesis and also found in natural products and pharmaceuticals. However, the efficient construction of conjugated dienes bearing a chiral axis remains challenging and underdeveloped. Herein, we disclosed a palladium-catalyzed highly regio-, E -, and atroposelective hydroalkenylation of allene providing a series of conjugated dienes bearing a chiral C–N or C–C axis with high functional group tolerance. Notably, this method also provides a new platform for the design and construction of novel axially chiral diene–phosphine ligands.
