The international circulation of students and researchers has been presented as a means to improve the quality of higher education and as essential for the formation of global citizens. This research aims to analyze the trajectories of graduates from the Science without Borders Program in order to understand the repercussions of the international experience on the personal, academic, and professional spheres of the beneficiaries. To this end, narrative interviews were conducted based on Fritz Schütze's theoretical and methodological guidelines. The results show that the Science without Borders Program has contributed to the training of highly qualified human resources. However, the lack of follow-up actions for graduates, the discontinuity of public policies, and the limited number of programs promoting research and the retention of researchers in the country have hindered the effective utilization and institutionalization of the knowledge acquired during international academic mobility.
