Review explores the effectiveness of polyherbal face masks in improving acne and skin health.
Herbal cosmetics have gained significant attention due to their safety, biocompatibility, and therapeutic effectiveness in skin care applications. Among various cosmetic preparations, polyherbal face masks represent an emerging class of topical formulations that combine multiple plant-based ingredients to achieve synergistic effects. This review focuses on the anatomical and physiological aspects of human skin, different skin types, acne vulgaris, and the role of polyherbal peel-off face masks in acne management. Polyherbal peel-off face masks represent an innovative cosmetic approach that combines the benefits of multiple herbal ingredients to address acne and improve overall skin health. The review also highlights the pharmacological importance of various herbal ingredients commonly used in anti-acne polyherbal face masks, including anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant agents, as well as natural excipients such as thickening and film-forming agents. Collectively, these herbal components contribute to improved skin health by reducing inflammation, inhibiting acne-causing microorganisms, neutralizing oxidative stress, and promoting skin regeneration. Polyherbal peel-off face masks thus offer a promising, natural, and effective approach for acne management and overall skin care.
