Demonstrates improved encryption strength in cyber defense, suggesting new cryptographic methods.
HYBRA VFS-9 is a security layer applied on top of an already-encrypted file. The encrypted file is wrapped in the VFS-9 layer, which transforms it into an array of numbers where any extraction attempt with any key returns a mathematically correct result. The adversary loses the ability to know when the attack is complete: there is no reject bit, no error signal, no success criterion. Every candidate looks equally valid. Breaking the system does not mean finding the correct answer — it means generating an astronomical mass of hallucinations with no way to distinguish the true one. Cryptanalysis becomes impossible not because the problem is computationally hard, but because the notion of "correct answer" does not exist in the attacker's coordinate system. Verified independently by eight AI systems across three continents — none identified a path to bypass. All converged on the same conclusion: the attack is not cryptanalysis. It is guessing without a criterion of truth. Public experiment: hybra.ru/vfs/memorandum Version 2. This version supersedes the initial preprint and adds the following: 1. Formal proof of the totality property. Lemma 1 proves that the recovery procedure always returns a value in {1,...,9} by an elementary arithmetic argument. Theorem 1 lifts this to the full Recover algorithm, covering all admissible key pairs (K1, K2). 2. Strengthened definition of admissible key pairs. The definition now explicitly requires that the domain of K1 covers all vectors produced by K2, closing a gap in the earlier version. 3. Observation on the undefinability of successful cryptanalysis. A formal consequence of Theorem 1: since Pi(M) = 1 for all M in M_valid(C), the notion of a successful attack is undefined within the observation model. 4. Expanded composition analysis. A dedicated subsection shows that when the VFS layer is applied over a standard cipher E = Protect_k(F), the two protection levels are orthogonal. The outer cipher provides semantic security; the VFS layer provides verification opacity. Full compromise requires independently breaking both levels. 5. Revised abstract and keywords reflecting the formal contribution. The central open problem — a game-based proof of VFS under standard complexity assumptions — remains explicitly stated as future work. An earlier version of this work (v1) is available at the same DOI. The construction, public experiment, and key disclosure schedule described in v1 are unchanged.
