Case report documents lymph leak complications after laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, indicating the need for awareness and management strategies.
Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair using the transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) approach is widely accepted due to reduced postoperative pain, faster recovery, and low recurrence rates. However, uncommon complications such as lymphatic injury, leading to lymph leak or lymphocele, may occur. Lymph leak after TAPP repair is rare and often underreported, posing diagnostic and management challenges. We report a case of postoperative lymph leak following TAPP repair and provide a comprehensive review of the literature focusing on pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, and management strategies.
