Shows improved fault detection and reduced costs in automated machining systems, indicating enhanced productivity.
The waiting time of repairing machines directly affects productivity, quality, and cost; and therefore its control is also essential in maximizing preventive maintenance strategies and profitability. Quality assurance policy provides improved corrective maintenance approaches through proper repair standards and reduces the impact of failures on production. In this work, we present a model description of an automated operating system with a limited supply and standby units, designed to minimize repair waiting time. The system includes an inspector to ensure quality and dedicated servers for repairs. The probability of effective units is used to calculate the likelihood of early defect detection in the steady state, supporting the concept of preventive maintenance. Additionally, we focused on reducing search effort, which is constrained by a Gaussian distribution, considering it as a function with a discounted parameter to lower detection costs and improve detection accuracy. We also discussed the effectiveness of this model for different system capacities.
