Study standardizes a language competency test, enhancing vocabulary and grammar assessment in digital cartoon instruction.
The use of digital cartoon-based instructional strategy is an innovative approach to teaching and learning that can enhance language acquisition and retention. To effectively evaluate students' language proficiency in this context, it is essential to develop standardized tests that accurately measure language competency in relation to digital cartoon-based instructional strategy. This research paper presents the process of standardizing a language competency test to assess students' vocabulary and grammar of English language enhanced in digital cartoon-based learning environments. The language competency test is standardized by employing item analysis and assessing reliability. The preliminary test was conducted among 100 students for item analysis. Then the pilot study was conducted among 50 students to establish reliability. The reliability of the test was measured using Cronbach's alpha that assess the internal consistency of the test. The analysis revealed an alpha value 0.98 indicative of good reliability, suggesting that the test items consistently measure the language competency of secondary school students.
