Investigates energy decay results in a viscoelastic porous-elastic system, implying enhanced understanding of damping effects.
We investigate a swelling porous-elastic system subject to a simultaneous effect of a viscoelastic damping, with relaxation function g, and a frictional damping, with a variable exponent m(x). We establish explicit and optimal energy decay results, depending on both m and g, which extend and improve earlier related results in the literature.
