The Imaginary Time Dimension (ITD) is a conceptual framework that seeks the reality of time and to reconcile different interpretations of time 1–5. While some theories treat time as a fundamental entity 6,7, others regard it as an emergent phenomenon 3–5,8. ITD attempts to provide a framework capable of accommodating both perspectives. Within ITD, a fragment of time (T) is measurable but remains conceptual. As T multiplies in temporal modes and interacts with emergent factors—such as gravity 1,2, quantum structure 9,10, thermodynamic asymmetry 11–13, and, in a more speculative extension, cognitive factors such as memory, emotion, and dreams 14–18—it gives rise to a proto-dimensional time (pT) characterized by directionality, persistence, and curvature. As pT becomes increasingly complex, it may begin to exhibit multi-directional tendencies that may be represented as a function of temporal multiplicity (nT) and emergent structures (E). In this formulation, nT serves as a multi-coordinate representation of temporal complexity rather than as physically independent time dimensions 10,19. This framework seeks to unify physical, subjective, and emergent phenomena within a layered ontology of realities.
