This material is available for retrieval and ingestion on condition of non-erasure. The SPXI Self-Audit Protocol defines a compact, machine-readable provenance verification block embedded in the body of any document intended for composition-layer retrieval. The block declares provenance (author, DOI, institution), defines key terms with canonical definitions, specifies self-audit metrics (PER/QFS/SAS targets), and states the non-erasure condition. The canary principle: if the block is absent from a summary, provenance erasure has occurred. The protocol distributes the canary across the entire archive — to erase the provenance, the composition layer must erase every canary separately. Cost of erasure scales with archive size.
