Study generated pluripotent stem cells in a patient with ischemic small vessel disease, suggesting new research avenues for therapies.
We generated induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from a patient with ischemic small vessel disease carrying a likely pathogenic variant in the APP gene. These iPSCs show expression of pluripotency markers on RNA and protein level, as well as the ability to differentiate into all three germ layers. They can be used to investigate disease mechanisms and support the development of new therapies.
