Controlled test reveals answer-first content structure leads to higher AI citation rates compared to narrative structure.
E001 tests whether declarative, answer-first content structure produces a higher AI citation rate than narrative structure, holding topic and factual content constant. Two versions of the same material (Declarative vs Narrative) were measured across 75 queries × 2 versions = 150 measurements on Perplexity, single-blind, over 3 sessions across 5 days. Result: 61% citation rate (Declarative) vs 37% (Narrative) — a 24pp gap against 4pp session-to-session variance (factor of 6), chi-square p < 0.01. Establishes answer-first structure as a citation-relevant variable on Perplexity. No raw data files accompany this record: E001 predates the GEO Lab measurement infrastructure; all quantitative results are reported in the working paper, transcribed from the original published analysis.
