First person – Caique Almeida Machado Costa

First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Caique Almeida Machado Costa is first author on ‘ Live imaging of epithelial phagocyte differentiation in the Drosophila ovary reveals transient and novel behaviors’, published in JCS. Caique conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Dr Wu-Min Deng's lab at Louisiana Cancer Research Center, New Orleans, USA, and is now a postdoc in the lab of Dr Paulina Velasquez at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. Caique’s research interests focus on combining computational biology with cellular imaging approaches to better understand cellular behavior and develop more effective CAR-T cell therapies for pediatric leukemia.
