Demonstrates efficient separation of Lu177 from Yb targets, indicating potential for sustainable recycling.
High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide We propose a novel molten salt electrolysis method for the separation of 177 Lu from Yb-based targets. By leveraging the distinct electrochemical behaviors of Lu(III) and Yb(III) in the molten salt system, Lu(III) ions are selectively electrodeposited with high efficiency. Furthermore, the introduction of O 2− ions facilitates the regeneration of Yb(III) into its oxide form, enabling target material recycling and enhancing process sustainability.
