Demonstrates enhanced photocatalytic activity of protonated graphitic carbon nitride, suggesting a green synthesis approach.
An unprecedented, simple, and green method for the synthesis of lemon juice‐modified protonated graphitic carbon nitride is reported. The prepared graphitic carbon nitride catalyst is thoroughly characterized using UV–vis, FT‐IR, XRD, photoluminescence, solid‐state NMR, FE‐SEM, TEM, and XPS techniques. Further, the prepared protonated nanomaterial was also demonstrated as a photocatalyst for a model vicinal chloroamination reaction of chalcone under visible light irradiation.
