This hypothesis explores how biological systems detect information from inanimate sources, revealing evolution's role in response to predators.
This work postulates the existence of Geometric Information (GI) – a hypothetical, purely geometric disturbance propagating through a network of p-gluons (the quanta of spacetime geometry) at a velocity v >> c, carrying negligible energy (borrowed from vacuum fluctuations and returned). GI is not precognition; it carries information about events that have already become irreversible at the source, but whose classical consequences (shock waves, light, sound) have not yet arrived. The hypothesis is falsifiable. It predicts that biological systems (as the most complex information-processing networks known) may act as GI detectors – but exclusively for **inanimate sources** (an icicle, an avalanche, an explosive material), not for **animate sources** (a predator, a hunter with a finger on the trigger). The asymmetry arises from the difference between physical determination (GI active) and free will/intention (GI inactive). Without this asymmetry, predators would have gone extinct – evolution could not have allowed it. Is the idea crazy? Yes. But it is internally consistent, falsifiable (four explicit conditions in the paper), and does not violate general relativity from the outset – GI carries no net energy, so it does not create closed timelike curves or break causality.
