Establishes Klein bottle as necessary for Pin+ spacetime, indicating significant implications.
We establish that the Klein bottle is the natural compactification manifold of Pin⁺ spacetime, corresponding to sector k=10 in the Z16 bordism classification Ω4Pin+=Z16. Using the Smith normal form decomposition Z16≅Z8⊕Z2, we show that the Klein bottle’s topological character (2,1)∈Z8⊕Z2 maps to k=2+8×1=10 in Z16, simultaneously encoding non-orientability (Z8 torsion) and chirality breaking (Z2 torsion). The domain wall Σ={x∈M∣w1T(x)=0} on the Klein bottle acts as a time-direction turning point—a codimension-1 hypersurface separating regions of opposite time orientation. We prove that: (1) Klein bottle compactification is not an arbitrary choice but a topological necessity dictated by the Z16 structure; (2) time-direction turning points are the physical realization of Greene–Kabat parity walls, unifying non-orientable compactification with topological phase transitions; (3) the causal structure of Klein bottle spacetime satisfies topological causality conditions, forbidding closed causal curves when the domain wall is acausal; (4) the η-invariant η=5/8 of the Klein bottle predicts specific signals in condensed matter analog systems and cosmological observations.
