This paper presents a complete linguistic analysis and translation of the Linear A inscription TL Za 1, engraved on a marble libation spoon from Troullos near Archanes on Crete. The object belongs to a rare class of inscribed ritual implements and preserves a highly structured religious formula associated with libation and lamentation rites. The study examines the inscription through epigraphic, grammatical, and comparative linguistic analysis and proposes revised phonetic values for Linear A signs A301 (JO) and AB013 (ŽA). These readings permit a coherent interpretation of the text and contribute to the reconstruction of the morphology and ritual vocabulary preserved in the language recorded by the Linear A script. The inscription is translated as: “Father of the Bull-Contest and of the Goats, weep the tears, that the libation offering may flow in streams!” Particular attention is devoted to the recurring formulaic sequence U-NA-KA-NA-SI, I-PI-NA-MA, and SI-RU-TE, which also appears in the closely related inscriptions KO Za 1, IO Za 2, and PK Za 11. The comparison demonstrates the existence of a highly standardised corpus of Linear A libation formulae and provides new evidence for the grammatical structure of the language. Beyond its linguistic significance, TL Za 1 offers valuable insight into the ritual practices of Bronze Age Crete. The inscription preserves a ceremonial invocation linking divine titles, ritual lamentation, and libation, thereby contributing to our understanding of Minoan religion and the liturgical traditions of the Aegean Bronze Age. The publication includes a new drawing of the inscription, a revised transliteration, a complete translation, detailed lexical and morphological analyses, and a discussion of the archaeological, epigraphic, and palaeographic context of the object.
