Systematic study analyzes alpha decay half-lives in superheavy nuclei, highlighting the best proximity model performance.
This study systematically investigates the [Formula: see text] decay half-lives of superheavy nuclei within the framework of the Coulomb and Proximity Potential Model (CPPM). We conducted a comparative analysis of 17 different versions of proximity potential models, designed to describe various physical processes, including proton radioactivity, diproton radioactivity, heavy-ion radioactivity, quasi-elastic scattering, and fusion reactions. By calculating the [Formula: see text] decay half-lives of 376 atomic nuclei, we found that the Prox.77-2 potential model exhibits the best performance in the analysis of [Formula: see text] decay for superheavy nuclei due to its smallest root mean square(RMSE) deviation of [Formula: see text] = 0.4552 compared to experimental data. Based on the CPPM framework, we successfully predicted the [Formula: see text] decay half-lives of 14 candidate nuclei (Z=118, 120), providing a significant theoretical foundation and reference for further research on the [Formula: see text] decay of superheavy nucleus.
