Against the background of rural revitalization and background of the Sustainable Development Strategy, traditional villages in Guangxi face dilemmas such as homogenization, inadequate development, and inappropriate conservation. Taking Mozhuang Village in Shanglin County as a case and comparing it with Guming Village, a Zhuang village developed for tourism based on vernacular landscapes. By using the landscape gene identification method, the existing local landscape resources in Mouxiao were classified and studied based on the four landscape elements of nature, production, life and culture. It also summarizes the current problems and puts forward corresponding suggestions, aiming to provide a reference for the sustainable development of ancient ethnic villages in Guangxi and the restoration of local landscapes.
